4 steps to have a good life

Every day, as an osteopath , I become more and more aware that imbalances in the body are a consequence of imbalances on a psychological level. Above all, I realize that the great burden that my patients have on a mental level is clearly reflected in disorders and pain in their bodies. After more than 20 years in the profession, I have been observing that if we managed to be more focused and balanced on a psychological level we could have a good life, at least a life of much higher quality than the one we have. It is also important to lead a more or less healthy lifestyle, which includes walking or exercising daily to get to bed tired, eating enough vegetables and protein, spending time with friends or loved ones, playing and laughing, and as an osteopath I will Also emphasize maintaining an upright and proper posture.

According to a recent scientific study, only a few adults meet sufficient criteria to be considered to lead a healthy life. The study published in “Archives of Internal Medicine”   shows that only 3% of American adults show a perfect score on what the authors consider to be the basic criteria for leading a healthy life. But the goal is not to achieve perfection, just to adopt habits that make us enjoy a good life.

Fear and anxiety.

Every day I see how fear, anxiety and stress grip my patients, shrinking and twisting their bodies to limits that are sometimes difficult to believe. And many of them have a great burden coming from the past, preconceived ideas that limit them about who they are, where they can go in life, what they can achieve… As an osteopath I can alleviate their burden considerably, by removing the pain and release your blockages, but if there are no mental changes, the pain will surely settle back in exactly the same place it was. And we don’t take care of ourselves, let’s be honest, we take very little care of ourselves. But we want to live well, we want to be lucky, not suffer and live a life in harmony. Well, by following these steps, day by day, we will be much closer to achieving it.

“4 steps to have a good life”

1- Become aware of how you feel and what you think at every moment

(without becoming obsessed 😉 Our character and our day become twisted, just as our spine does or our neck contracts, due to small amounts of negative and stressful thoughts. Be aware of them and reorient your thinking. This way you will avoid people or situations that make you feel bad, that would otherwise go unnoticed, and in this way you will not accumulate tension in your muscles and your bones and body will not suffer.

2- Feed yourself with logic.

Eat enough vegetables and fruit, and enough protein. If you do not have time to prepare food for many days, eat raw foods such as fruit and some vegetables that do not require cooking. Your body loves raw food. If you can fast from time to time, this gives your body a “break” and that day is dedicated to eliminating toxins. https://www.fitnessrevolucionario.com/2015/09/12/mitos-ayuno-intermitente/

3- Move, do some exercise.

This way you will get in touch with your body and work on proprioception , this is the awareness of our own body. We are often disconnected, as if body and mind were two separate entities, and they are not. Exercising your body a little can give you a lot of satisfaction and a new awareness of yourself. Plus, your self-esteem will skyrocket.

4- Think well, of others and of yourself. Imagine a good future for yourself.

Get rid of today and forever those negative thoughts about ourselves and our future that have made us believe they are harmless. They are not, and they take a great toll on your mind, and by extension your body. It is also important that you do not think badly of others; It makes you lose energy and puts your mind in a destructive mode, and what interests you is using your resources to build a good life for yourself, not to evaluate or judge the neighbor upstairs. Economize and intelligently direct your mental resources, you will notice. By extension, your relationship with people will improve and you will treat others better, but others will treat you much better and you will be happier. You will make better friends, your boss and colleagues will be kinder to you, and your relationships with your partner and family will also improve. You see? They are all advantages
