8 Tips For Stress Management

Stress is a fact of our lives. It doesn’t happen without stress, but it doesn’t happen when the stress is too much. So, is there a setting for this? Stress is the situation that motivates us. With the presence of stress, we can finish our work on time and even be more focused and motivated. However, like everything else, stress benefits us as long as it is at normal levels. Once it exceeds a certain limit, instead of being a solution to problems, it becomes the problem itself. Not being able to manage our stress creates many physical and psychological negativities. These include physical headaches, stomach problems, waist and back pain, and heart-related disorders. Psychologically, it causes feelings such as feeling bad, restlessness, irritability, and pessimism.

If you live with high stress, your health is at risk. It is possible to feel good and manage stress by working individually with stress coping methods .

1) Find the Source of Your Stress

To cope with stress, first be aware of the situation you are experiencing. Once you experience feelings of awareness and acceptance, find where the stress is coming from. Because finding the root of the problem will be of great benefit to reach a solution. Unless the source of stress is eliminated, solutions will remain temporary.

2) Recognize and Define Your Stress

The effects of stress are different for each individual. First of all, try to find out what stress is doing to you. You can keep a diary for this. Take note of the moments when you feel good or bad during the day. Examine these carefully. After gaining awareness, take action for a solution by asking yourself questions such as “What is good for me when I am stressed, what can I change, how can I reduce the effect of stress?”

3) Breath Control

You can restrain your stress by breathing correctly. With proper breathing, you can calm down by giving your body the message that things are okay. To do this, inhale by inflating your abdomen while keeping your back upright, then exhale and repeat this for 10 minutes. You will see that it is good for you.

4) Don’t Take All Responsibility On Yourself

We cannot do everything in life alone. Work done together is easier when there is a division of labor. This reduces the burden on you. When you have big tasks to do alone, divide them into smaller pieces. Proceed step by step. Write down your steps and mark what you’ve completed to see your progress. Seeing this will relax you and prevent high stress with a sense of accomplishment.

5) Change Your Perspective Focus on the Positive

When you encounter situations where there is nothing we can do, change your perspective instead of feeling helpless and stressed. Think about what opportunities this situation might bring. It’s always easier to see the negative. We can also say very harsh things when criticizing ourselves. We should not question and think in order to correct our mistakes when necessary. However, if these questions wear us out psychologically, we should stop there and see what we are doing to ourselves.

6) Create a Healthy Lifestyle

Sleeping regularly, eating regularly and exercising are essential for a healthy life. Insufficient sleep weakens attention, willpower and memory. Excessive coffee consumption can also be a stress-inducing factor. Regular exercise will relax you. The body feels safe when it maintains a certain routine. Therefore, creating a healthy routine is very important for stress management.

7) Develop a Habit of Gratitude

Life is a whole with good and bad situations. The more you live and are aware of the present moment, the better you will appreciate it. Learning to be grateful for what we experience will greatly contribute to your psychological well-being. Being grateful will remove stress factors from you.

8) Don’t hesitate to seek help in times of need

While there are situations that we can handle on our own, sometimes there are situations that we cannot handle. So you shouldn’t feel bad. We cannot have enough for everything in life. Get help from people or professionals who will be good for you when necessary. Show yourself the value you need before it’s too late.
