Celestial body

Celestial bodies are all the objects that are part of the universe , which can interact with another body by the law of gravity (orbiting it or being orbited), or if there are no forces that influence it, it remains as a wandering body in middle of space.

Classification

Celestial bodies are classified according to their ability to emit light or reflect it. All of them are part of a galaxy . Bright stars like stars , including the sun, emit light produced by the internal reactions that occur in it. Dull stars do not have their own light , rather they reflect that of bright stars. These stars are the planets and satellites.

The stars

They are stars that were formed by the condensation of hydrogen and cosmic dust. These stars are endowed with their own light, they are the largest stars in the universe. Stars shine according to the nuclear transmutations they undergo in their core.

Classification by size

  • dwarfs
  • Medium
  • Giants
  • super giants

Other types of stars

  • Novas are those stars that increase their brightness due to the explosions they experience (thermonuclear).
  • Super Novas , Slender Novas that, when they explode and disintegrate, form nebulae and neutron stars.
  • Pulsar is a neutron star, the remnant of a supernova.
  • Black hole , regions of space in which one or more stars have collapsed and where gravitational forces become so intense that they prevent even particles moving at the speed of light (300,000 km/s) from escaping. reason no type of light, matter or signal can escape.

The constellations

They are groupings of stars visible to the naked eye, their names correspond to figures or people, which are obtained by mentally joining them. It comprises 89 isolated sectors of the celestial sphere, and they have the following classification:

  • Northern constellations
  • zodiac constellations
  • Southern constellations

The Nebulae

They are gaseous luminous spots composed of hydrogen and helium, as well as cosmic dust, which gives rise to stars and planets. Nebulae can be: Bright nebulae, when they are visible, they include: Orion, Rosette, Trifid; Likewise, dark nebulae are found, such as the Horsehead, Coalsack.

Quasers or Quasars

They are structures very similar to stars, called “quasi stars” or quasars. It has been noted that all quasars move away from the galaxy at a speed of 200,000 km/s, comparable to the speed of light. They are the most luminous objects in the universe.
