Dragon’s Dogma 2 | All vocations explained, which one is best

With the recent arrival of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 character editor a week after its launch, we already know which are all the classes, or rather “vocations” with which we can start our adventure, along with those we will unlock later .

How many classes are there in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

When starting the game for the first time, we will have 4 initial classes available , but as we progress through the story, we will unlock up to 6 advanced or hybrid classes , leaving a total of 10 classes in the final version of the game, since the developers do not have I didn’t plan to add any more classes, but having so much variety, the truth is that no extra is needed.

All Dragon’s Dogma 2 vocations

Before going through the list of all of them, you should know that in principle no vocation is better than another . Just because a vocation is basic does not mean that it is worse than an advanced one, since they simply fulfill different identities and each one specializes in a specific weapon.

Furthermore, the initial class you choose will not limit which classes you will be able to access later, for example, if at the beginning you have opted for the vocation of thief, then you will be able to upgrade to a knight without any problem and without being worse in that class. .

Fighter

The fighter excels in hand-to-hand combat, skillfully wielding his sword and shield. With it, you can make your way through enemies and deliver powerful blows while protecting yourself and your allies with the shield, this being the only class that has it.

What most characterizes the fighter are his perfect blocks , with which you can destabilize enemies and take advantage to charge against them, so if you like parrys and counterattacks, this is your class.

Goalkeeper

The archer vocation specializes in ranged attacks with bow and arrows. You will be able to fight from afar and you can direct projectiles against enemies that a fighter could not reach, for example. Additionally, you can lock onto the enemy’s weak points to deal greater damage.

Also, this class has great agility and different types of elemental arrows , such as fire to burn flying enemies, explosives and even some that alter the behavior of enemies among many others.

Thief

The thief attacks with lethal speed, stabbing quickly and consecutively with a dagger in each hand and of course, with exceptional agility. Also, it’s going to be one of the best climbing classes in the game, so if you like climbing on monsters to cause eye or neck damage, it’s a very good class to start with.

Thanks to its speed, you will be able to harass your rival by combining attacks and repositioning yourself gracefully with its agility, and if that were not enough, you will also be able to snatch your enemies’ possessions .

Magician

The magician is a class that cannot be missing from your team , whether you are carrying him or he is one of your pawns. Since he can cast offensive spells of different elements that hit the enemies’ specific weaknesses. For example, if you cast a fire spell on a flying enemy, they will not be able to fly again for a certain amount of time. Additionally, he is one of the few classes in this game that can heal and buff your team.

Magician

The sorcerer is an advanced class of wizard , so he will have much more powerful spells. The bad thing is that this one completely loses the ability to heal allies and get some buffs. Also, an interesting mechanic of this class is that if you team up with other sorcerers, you will be able to cast spells much faster and double their damage.

Warrior

The advanced fighter class sacrifices things from the basic class such as the shield, to exchange it for a huge two-handed greatsword or mace. If you like slow combat due to charged attacks that deal a considerable amount of damage, this class, when you unlock it, may be for you.

As you charge, the damage you take will be reduced, not to mention you will be less likely to be knocked down. Although it must be said that not all of the warrior’s attacks will be charged, since you can also deliver pommel blows at the exact moment when they attack you to stun the enemy.

Magic Archer

The archer does not have an advanced vocation as such, but we could take this class as such, since it is a hybrid vocation where you can combine the bow and magical attacks . With this class, you will lose some mobility but in exchange you will be able to make remote-controlled charged attacks with which you will do a lot of damage to enemies.

Like the magician or the archer, you can shoot elemental arrows of fire, lightning, and even ice, among others. You also have the ability to revive allies with a healing shot.

Mystical Duelist

Like the previous class, the thief in this case does not have an advanced class either , so if you are looking for one that is similar to him, this is the one that comes closest. This is a hybrid vocation between the mage and the warrior , being a melee class with which you can also use different spells such as force shields to protect yourself and your allies.

Illusionist

The illusionist is a hybrid class but without having basic classes from which it comes. With this vocation, you will not be able to attack any enemy, but you will be able to control the battlefield and help your allies in battle. For example, you can create illusions that enemies attack or also have them fight among themselves. Also, you can buff your allies so that they do more damage than usual.

Champion

With this class you can use any type of weapon and learn different skills for each vocation. But as is clear, not all are advantages in this vocation, since due to its low statistics , you will have to know how to use weapons and adapt well to the environment that surrounds you.
