Final Fantasy VII Rebirth | All Limits and how to increase the limit level

Limits have always been an important factor in combat in the Final Fantasy series. And in Final Fantasy VII there were so many and so good, that we have things like Cloud’s mythical Omniwhip left to remember. Luckily, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth recovers this system, although with some variations compared to what was seen in Final Fantasy VII Remake. We review these changes, collect all the Limits and tell you how to level them up .

What are Limits and the state of overcoming in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

The way in which we can execute these powerful attacks is very similar to what was seen in the original 1997 game. In other words, as we receive damage , our Limit bar increases. And when it is filled to the maximum, it reaches the state of “overcoming.” In that case, the character can go beyond his usual combat ability by using powerful abilities that are, in effect, called Limits. Of course, limits do not consume BTC bar charge when used.

On the other hand, unlike what happened in the original game, here we can not only charge the Limit bar by receiving damage, but also by leaving an enemy vulnerable . In fact, the latter is something that will raise the bar quite a bit on some occasions. So always keep in mind the weaknesses of each monster. And analyze them all at least once!

All Final Fantasy VII Rebirth limits

Each character has their own. And the big difference from the original game is that some are hidden . But before commenting on that, let’s look at all the game limits that we will have by default (you don’t have to do anything to achieve them):

Level 1 Limits:

CHARACTER LIMIT DESCRIPTION
Cloud Cross cut Damages the enemy while creating a sinister symbol with the cuts.
Barrett burning bomb Fires an energy orb that creates a large explosion.
Tifa Mortal jump Launches an enemy into the air with a quick Zangan-style kick.
Aeris healing wind Summons a calming breeze to restore a moderate amount of HP to allies.
Network XIII Blood Fang Charge forward with animal fury, bathing in the blood of enemies and restoring your HP and MP.

The limits are even in the 3D Combat minigame!

Level 2 Limits:

CHARACTER LIMIT DESCRIPTION
Cloud fission chain Deliver a series of powerful slashes to a single enemy, greatly filling the enemy’s vulnerability bar.
Barrett Catastrophe It gathers all the force and channels it into a concentrated beam of energy. Significantly increases wobble. It also fills the enemy’s vulnerability bar a lot.
Tifa dolphin stroke Unleash a relentless stream of acrobatic attacks. It also fills the enemy’s vulnerability bar a lot.
Aeris Protector of the planet Request the planet’s favor to nullify the physical damage caused to all party members. It can only be used once per battle.
Network XIII howling moon Red XIII will howl at the moon, activating a longer-lasting Revenge mode.

Aeris is an excellent white mage and that is also reflected in the Limits.

How to raise the level cap in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

So far, you have seen that there are Level 2 Limits . And we have told you that they are available from the beginning. Why don’t they appear when the bar is full? That’s where that difference we mentioned comes into play: they are hidden . And for them to appear, we will have to use certain synchronized skills before.

In other words, some Sync Skills allow you to increase the level of Limits to perform more powerful Limits. Furthermore, in the game they confirm that we will be able to learn Level 3 Limits as we improve the Skill Manuals .

*In construction . For now, we have published this guide with the Limits up to Level 2. Do not hesitate to come back in the next few days to discover the Level 3 Limits, which are the most exclusive to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

On the other hand, if you still don’t have the game or simply want to know what awaits you before experiencing it for yourself, we remind you that we have already published the analysis of Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth . Also, remember that we have a guide in which we tell you all the editions there are and what each one of them includes, including the rewards for pre-ordering . And if you already have the title, remember that we have a complete guide that we will continue to update.
