How to edit DMs on Instagram
Instagram continues to update itself, introducing new features from time to time with the aim of improving the user experience. However, some basic possibilities were missing, already present on competing services: banally, even the editing of messages itself .
Until now, in case of an error, it was necessary to cancel the sending of the text in DM and rewrite it. Now, as Meta itself announced in a recent post , DMs ( Direct Messages ) can finally be edited .
How to edit DMs on Instagram
To correct a message, you need to press and hold the DM in question and, from the drop-down menu, choose the “Edit” item . Once the text has been arranged, the “Modified” label will be displayed above the chat bubble , so as to inform the recipient of the change. The screenshots below clarify everything better:
As already specified at the beginning, the modification of the DM can be carried out within a maximum of 15 minutes . After this period of time, the message sent in Direct can no longer be changed. To what has just been said, minor updates are added which lead to greater simplification in the process of activating or deactivating read receipts .
Editing messages in DM will be possible for everyone very soon: Meta has announced that this long-awaited feature is now being rolled out on Instagram, which means that you may not be able to use it right away, so arm yourself with patience (however limited, as the distribution should be completed in the next few days).
