How to Handle Covid-19 Without Draining Your Savings

Even though we are disciplined in implementing health protocols, we still cannot control things that are beyond our control, for example where someone travels from before finally meeting us. It is through social interactions that we usually let our guard down, then become exposed. The problem is, apart from attacking our health, the costs of care and treatment until we recover completely can also drain our savings.

Just imagine, how much money we have to spend to carry out swab tests , buy supplements, medicines and vitamins, as well as equipment that can prevent or reduce transmission, such as masks, hand sanitizers , disinfectants and so on. Not to mention if we also experience side effects or symptoms of Covid-19 that are more severe and require an oxygen cylinder or even have to undergo treatment at the hospital. Certainly the amount of costs that must be incurred is not small.

If so, what should we do when exposed to Covid-19?

Basically, the main thing we have to do when exposed to this virus is maintain a healthy diet by eating nutritious food, sunbathing in the morning sun, maintaining the body’s mineral needs, regularly cleaning frequently touched surfaces (door handles, remotes , cellphones , table, etc.), remain disciplined in implementing health protocols, and always monitor symptoms that arise.

Maintaining mental or psychological health when exposed is also no less important. Always keep your mind calm, don’t panic, avoid stress by listening to music or watching entertaining films, and keep praying for a speedy recovery from Covid-19.

Please note that after 2-6 weeks of recovery from Covid-19, we will usually still experience post-Covid-19 symptoms, such as fatigue , dyspnoea , joint pain , chest pain , cough , including changes in the sense of taste and smell.

However, we can reduce the risk of exposure to this virus by vaccinating as soon as possible to strengthen the body’s immunity. Currently, there are several types of vaccines that we can choose from, such as Sinovac, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Novavax, or Merah Putih – Biofarma. However, it would be a good idea if we consult a specialist first before deciding which vaccine we will choose, especially if we have a congenital disease.

There are also several things that must be prepared before vaccinating, namely:

  1. Prepare the required personal data
  2. Prepare medical history data and doctor’s certificate (if there is a congenital disease)
  3. Get enough rest
  4. Eat nutritious food
  5. Avoid consuming coffee, cigarettes and alcohol, especially 1 day before vaccination
  6. Fulfill the mineral needs in the body

Meanwhile, the things we need to do after vaccination are:

  1. Follow medical advice instructed by health workers/vaccination officers
  2. Double check personal documents before leaving the vaccination site
  3. Avoid consuming coffee, cigarettes and alcohol, especially if you experience side effects from vaccination
  4. Pay attention to symptoms after vaccination, such as dizziness, fever, chills, or fatigue
  5. Rest until your body is fit again

Of course, all the things mentioned above, starting from examinations, how to deal with Covid-19, what is needed to truly recover, including vaccinations, will require extra time, energy and expenditure to do so. In the end, as one of the many risks to life, the costs associated with treating Covid-19 are certainly not small and can drain your savings if you are not well prepared.
