What is the Windows clipboard

This is a tool integrated into the Windows operating system that allows you to store any information temporarily, always using the copy or paste options . When an element is copied from any application, it is sent directly to the clipboard so we can later paste it wherever we want.

Recover history in Windows clipboard

Turn on clipboard history

To be able to access the Windows clipboard when you need it, the first thing you should do is activate the option that allows you to recover elements from the clipboard. To do this, you just have to do the following:

  • Open Computer Settings and select the Systemoption .
  • The next thing will be to select the Clipboard option and click on the Clipboard Historyactivation button .

Once this option is activated, you can access this history whenever you want by pressing the Win keys (the key with the Windows symbol) + V. A window will then appear with all the elements you have copied.

Sync clipboard with other devices

In addition to having the opportunity to recover all the contents of the clipboard, there is also the possibility of accessing clipboard items from another device. But for this to be possible you must activate the option

  • Open Computer Settings and go to the Systemsection .
  • Then select the Clipboardsection and activate the Automatically sync the text I copied option  .

Pin clipboard items to get desired files

However, if you delete clipboard data through Windows settings, delete a certain clipped document from your clipboard, or delete the entire clipboard, you will be prompted to perform Windows data recovery .

Only pinned documents can be recovered after clearing the clipboard history or restarting your PC.

Recover files using MyRecover

By using professional data recovery software you can recover files deleted from clipboard without backups. For example, “ MyRecover ” is used to recover deleted files .

For better Windows data recovery rate, we recommend that you stop writing new files to Windows computer while running MyRecover because any added items may overwrite your deleted files.

To recover files you can get the MyRecover software on your computer with Windows 11, 10, 8, 7 or Windows Server.

After data deletion, the possibility of recovering your documents with stuck items may decrease.

  • After starting MyRecover, select the partition that stores the desired files before data loss. Then click on the “Start Scan” button.
  • You can quickly locate the desired files according to name, path, date or type or wait to see all the deleted and lost files after the scanning process.

Go to the Deleted Files/Recycle Bin/Other Missing Files folder and click “Recover x files” to recover the deleted files . Remember to store these files in a new location.

After the last procedure performed, check your restored files again.

Conclusions

If you are not willing to suffer further losses, you may consider using the free service of some backup software for Windows to backup your files, folders, partitions, disks or systems.
