National Autonomous University of Mexico. Educational institution of higher education , for the training of professionals in different specialties, it is the largest university in the Latin American country .

History

The university founded on September 21 , 1551 , with the name of the Royal and Pontifical University of Mexico. It is the largest and most important in the country and in Latin America . Its primary purpose is to be at the service of the country and humanity , to train professionals useful to society , to organize and carry out research , mainly about national conditions and problems, and to extend the benefits of culture as widely as possible .

Its main mission is to comprehensively train increasingly better prepared professionals. Other of its fundamental tasks lie in contributing to the training and permanent improvement of Human Resources in priority areas for the sustainable development of the country and carrying out relevant scientific , technological and cultural activity characterized by the transfer of knowledge and services of high added value. that achieve recognition in the national and international environment.

It began to develop teaching programs in 1959 in the specialties of Electrical Energy , Electronics and Telecommunications under the name of School of Electrical Engineering . It includes four majors : Electrical Engineering, Automatic, Telecommunications, Electronics and Biomedical .

It has its origins since its creation in 1952 . Currently three careers are studied: Agronomy , in which it plays the role of National Coordinating Center; Veterinary Medicine , Zootechnics and Mechanization of Agricultural Production . In postgraduate activity it offers a Doctorate in Sciences and three master’s programs.

In 1955 and until today, the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computing teaches the Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science , Computer Engineering , Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Bachelor’s Degree in [[Physics]. He has the Center for Computer Studies (CEI) attached. The postgraduate degree includes: Doctorate in Technical Sciences, Master in Applied Computing, Master in Applied Mathematics and Specialty in Database.

In the Faculty of Humanities, on November 30 , 1952 , the opening ceremony of the inaugural course of the University took place, one of the founding faculties of the University, which is made up of four departments: Linguistics and Literature , English Language , Foreign Languages ​​and Journalism .

The Department of Foreign Languages’ mission is to teach Spanish , English and German to the university community . In the postgraduate area, two master’s programs are offered (Master in Hispanic Linguistic-Editorial Studies and Master in English Language for Intercultural Communication) and a specialty program ( Text Editing ), as well as courses, training and diplomas. Postgraduate activity also includes doctoral training.

The Faculty of Law was officially reopened on October 7, 2002 as an independent faculty. The specialty of Criminal Law is taught and the start of two others in Civil , Property and Family Law and in Legal Advice is coordinated; In addition, several diploma courses are taught in Business Law, Criminal Law and Civil Law. At the Faculty of Psychology November 17 , 1959 with a degree in Psychology . Until the 1998 – 1999 academic year , more than 1,300 professionals in this science have graduated.
