Tears of the Kingdom Call from the Depths Quest Guide

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is out now and gives players the chance to return to the world of Hyrule from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild . While much of the world remained the same, the sequel did a lot to expand the overworld, as well as adding a new underground world known as the Deep. When players revisit the Great Plateau, the starting area from Breath of the Wild , interacting with the Hylia statue in the Temple of Time will offer a cryptic message. In this Tears of the Kingdom A Call From The Depths Quest Guide, we will look at the solution to the riddle, as well as the next stages of the quest for a nice reward.

Even if you haven’t reached the Great Plateau yet, there are plenty of other things to do in Tears of the Kingdom such as making sure you’ve unlocked the Camera and Auto-Assemble ability and collected the 11 hidden Memories around the world, while at the same time keeping an eye out for any hidden Koroks that will be rewarded with seeds to expand your inventory. The Call from the Deep quest chain is one of the longest side quests I’ve ever done in Tears of the Kingdom

How to start The Call. From the “Depths” quest chain?

When you first try to interact with the Hylia statue in the ruins of the Temple of Time, you will see a mysterious message

I’m trapped… underwater… behind a stone gate… of a large plateau…

From the Temple of Time ruins, head north where you’ll see a flooded section of the Great Plateau with a broken bridge above it. Continue north to the other side of the wall to find a pile of cracked rocks. Break it with a hammer or bomb arrows to drain the water. Drop down into the now empty area to find a glowing blue stone, after interacting with it it will recommend that you talk to the Hylia statue again.

After talking to the Hylia statue, the voice will explain that it is talking to you from the Depths and is using the statue as a mouthpiece. Four of his eyes were stolen and scattered across the Great Plateau. There is one eye next to each of the holes in the four cardinal directions leading to the Depths. Link is asked to find the eyes on the Great Plateau and take them to the statue to restore his sight and full strength.

Below are the steps to take with each eye, including where it is hidden near the hole in the Depths, and what mode of transport is best to return it to the statue:

Tears of the Kingdom Call from the Depths – Northern Eye

You can find the Northern Eye submerged in a body of water right next to the hole. Once you look into the Depths, you will see equipment that will allow you to create a car. Drive south until you see a large amphitheater. Drive into this building and go down the stairs to find a statue.

Tears of the Kingdom Call from the Depths – Southern Eye

The southern eye can be found peeking out from under a fallen rock. Use Recall on the stone and then Master Hand to take out the eye. After you look into the Depths, you will find equipment to create a flying machine with a fly, fans and some batteries. Fly northeast to reach the statue and return its eye.

Tears of the Kingdom Call from the Depths – Eastern Eye <p>The Eastern Eye can be found in the ruins. There is a pile of cracked rocks near the hole, use a hammer or bomb to destroy the cracked rocks to open the eye. You will use minecarts to guide this eye to the statue, this process is much easier than flying and driving because you are on the tracks and just have to follow the path

Tears of the Kingdom Call from the Depths – Western Eye

The western eye is surrounded by ice next to the pit. Use flaming weapons or fire arrows to free him, it will take several arrows before he is free if you go this route. Once you drop the eye into the hole, you will need to escort it up the elevator and then into the trolley. Once you reach the end of the minecart path, you will find yourself at the bottom of a three-story room with a statue. Use the elevator on your left to go to the top floor.

Reward

Tears of the Kingdom A Call From The Depths

Once you return all four eyes to the statue, the statue will offer you a reward in the form of a Heart Container or a stamina upgrade. This essentially turns completing four separate shrines into completing four different combined tasks in the world. This is a fun way to create new opportunities to power up Link without having to travel from shrine to shrine.

By choosing to upgrade the Statue, you will again be able to interact with him and buy items from him in exchange for Poe’s souls. The unique item this statue sells is Boots of the Fierce Deity for 400 souls, or you can get these boots for free by diving into the Ancient Stump in Western Hyrule and following the cave system.
